ABOUT ME

I started writing biographies in 1999. The interest in my own family history began when I ran across two family trees that a paternal and maternal uncle put together for their respective families. Since reading articles on DNA testing in 2008 and having my own Y chromosome tested, I have been involved not only in researching family trees in Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom, but also in the use of DNA for genealogy. I have served as an administrator and co-administrator of several genetic genealogy projects at Family Tree DNA, and co-authored an article, "The Genetic Signatures of East European Karaites."

I hold an M.Phil. from the University of Oxford and an Honours B.A. from the University of Toronto. I have taken several courses in statistics, and in my spare time, am a poet.
